Will this loss haunt or motivate them?

Any time you play 15 innings, almost 5 hours, the players will be tired the next day.  However, the winning team can more easily shake it off.  The losing team can only think about the many missed opportunities.

Regardless of the outcome, last night’s game was fun to watch.  I’ve never seen so many unconventional double-plays and close calls in one game, and I only caught the last 8 innings.  I just hope Ronnie’s heart is strong enough to handle games like this.

It’s been years since the Cubs have had such a deep bench to be able to compete in such games.  There aren’t any guys that I dread to see come out of the dugout.  I don’t even dread having pitchers Marquis or Zambrano pinch hit.  I like to think that Lou mixing up the starting line-up daily and using lots of double-switches will keep everyone sharp and competitive for the long season.
