Hills do have ups and downs
Rich Hill has either been very good or very bad this year. Hopefully he’s gotten enough bad out of his system to start a positive run. At least he was throwing strikes. Two of them were just hit out of the park, with lots of runners on. Since the Cubs couldn’t buy a run yesterday, Hill can’t take all of the blame.
At least the Brewers lost as well, so we’re still just 5 1/2 back. What we need to do is win on get-away day. No time for a losing streak. I think this team has learned to shake off losses and come back to the park ready to play. Pinella mentioned last week that the club can’t afford to take more than three days off at the All-Star break. Too many players go on an ‘early mental vacation’ and give games away before the break. These games matter, especially if they can keep the Cubs hot play going through the break.
