Playoffs on cable not bad enough
I was mad enough when MLB put the playoffs on TBS, which I no longer get. Now they’ve allowed TBS to screw over Cub fans everywhere (except the West Coast) by making Games 1, 2 and 5 (if necessary) 9 pm starts. That’s 9 pm Central time! Games won’t end until midnight, which is fine for night owls like me, but I feel sorry for kids that will either have to miss theĀ games or be very sleepy in school the next day. TBS even managed to mess up the Cubs home games, which are 5 pm on Saturday followed by a noon game on Sunday. Didn’t anyone tell TBS that the Chicago Marathon is running on Sunday?!?! Street closings could make traffic more a nightmare than ever. Why not give the players longer to rest from the previous night and let them play the 3 pm game? At least they didn’t make it a night game and put the Cubs/Diamondbacks potentially against the Bears/Packers, who play Sunday night.
OK, enough whining. I am happy to watch the Cubs whenever they play, as long as it’s October. I just feel that Selig needs to know how wrong it is when money wins out over the fans at every turn. What is he saying to his future fan base? I was considering getting my cable back to watch some of these games at home, but I won’t give them a dime in exchange for this. I suggest everyone go out to watch the games and don’t turn in to TBS at home. Let their ratings suffer! That’s the only lesson they’ll take seriously. Boycott TBS! If not for the playoffs, then afterwards.
