10,000 wins and counting

It took 10 innings tonight in Colorado, but the Chicago Cubs finally won their 10,000th game. It also happened to be Lou’s 100th victory as the manager of the Cubs.

Once again, it was a total team effort. Tonight’s stars included Ramirez (9th inning 2-run homer), Theriot (game-winning RBI single) and Soto (4-5, triple shy of the cycle). It took seven pitchers (eight if you count Marquis being used as a pinch runner) but the Cubs pulled off an exciting win against last year’s NL Champs.

Six wins in a row. Nine games over .500.  Best start in my lifetime. Still very early…
