Congrats All-Star Cubs

A club record seven Cubs will be going to this year’s All-Star Game, not including Lou. Two rookies, Fukudome and Soto, got voted in as starters, joining Soriano, a seven-time All-Star. Ramirez, Dempster and Wood were voted in by the players and Zambrano was selected by Clint Hurdle, the NL team manager, to round out the pitching staff.

It will be nice not only to have so many Cubs represented, but also to give them a chance to have an impact on a game that could have tremendous importance if the Cubs make the post-season. I still think it’s stupid that the winning league gets home field advantage in the World Series. I think the best record should get it, but Selig seems content with his tweak to make the All-Star game meaningful. Go National League!
