Edmonds Comes Up Big

It was so nice to see Edmonds have such a great game against LaRussa and the Cards, especially after going hitless when he first faced them in St. Louis after having to face all that grief about ‘moving on’ from his days as a Cardinal. Nothing says ‘I deserve some respect’ like a two-homer day. He even made a fantastic play in the outfield, which is getting to be a regular occurrence. Kudos to Hendry for picking this guy up when he did.

The win yesterday puts the Cubs at 70-46, the second best in the majors behind the Angels. They are 44-16 at home. Last year the Cubs only won 44 home games all season long. We still have 21 games to play in the Friendly Confines.

I’m off to see the game today. I’d like to see a little larger margin of victory than yesterday. I don’t mind exciting games, but it’s also nice to take the visiting fans out of the game early. I have a feeling there’ll be lots of red in the park today.
