Let’s Play Two
I wish someone would cool off those Brewers. While the Cubs were rained out in Atlanta last night, the Brewers won yet again, their seventh in a row, to pull within three games of the Cubs. Looks like it’s about time for the Cubs to go on a long winning streak of their own. It would be nice if they could start one on the road, although the trip through Atlanta and Miami won’t make it easy.
Now we’ve got to play two in one day, which will tax the bullpen. Hopefully either Marquis or Harden can go deep in their game so that the bullpen has something left for tomorrow. This is the first doubleheader the Cubs have played this year. I can remember when I was young and they used to actually plan doubleheaders into the schedule. What was better than spending an entire day at the ballpark? The fans in Atlanta won’t get that chance, unless they want to buy two tickets. They’re going to clear the park after the first game and reopen for the second game. No such thing as free baseball nowadays.
